WHAT WE OFFER
OUR SERVICES
Dog Training Services
Sits n Wiggles Dog Training uses only humane, evidence-based, positive reinforcement training methods. What this means is that we do not use methods that induce fear or pain to teach your dog. We appeal to what motivates them, such as food and play to teach your dog what we want from them.
We offer private sessions either at your home or virtually.
We do not use choke, slip, prong, or shock collars, which teaches them what to not do in hopes to avoid pain. Our trainers are certified through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers or working towards this or similar certifications

Because we are a Force-Free service, we do not use force, intimidation, pain, or other scary things like prong, pinch, training, choke, radio, or shock collars. If you use these items on your dog, we understand that is your right to do so, however we will not.
At SnW, we love all animals but have a soft spot for bully breeds, rescues, and reptiles. We have had the privilege of caring for cats, chickens, various lizards, snakes, spiders, rabbits, hedgehogs, and other pocket pets. We love all your pets they way you do.
Testimonials
What are others saying about Sits N Wiggles ?
Valarie and her crew are all incredible. I use them for their in-home pet sitting services any time I have to be out of town. When I had to go to Maine for a wedding, and the door key broke in the lock on Labor Day, AND the cats somehow flipped a safety catch locking them out of the apartment, they waited for a locksmith and were in general incredible about the whole situation. Their app is easy to use and I love getting updates and seeing photos of my 3 cats. All of their sitters are genuinely great people and I'm so happy I found them!

Sits n Wiggles did a great job caring for my two dogs while I was on vacation. Rachel was great and provided me with updates and knowing my concerns about my very senior dog made sure to communicate the things I was concerned about in her updates. Each update helped put me at ease on my trip and having the app to communicate was very easy. They also took care of things around the house like bringing in the mail and taking out trash on trash day. I would never have been able to make my trip without them!

Valarie was really great with training our dog to be less reactive on the leash. We noticed a big improvement after our first session. Plus our dog got super excited every time she saw her coming up our driveway. I would definitely recommend sits n wiggles!

Bringing Home Puppy
In these days of COVID and working from home many people are bringing home new puppies in record numbers. And you are one of those people. Hopefully, you carefully researched what breed is best suited to you, your family, your pre-COVID lifestyle, and your skill level. Now that you have picked the best breed for […]

Bringing Home Fido
Fostering and adopting an adult dog from shelters has always been my thing. It’s why I became a dog trainer. I saw a big gap in treatment in shelters and rescues, as they tended to focus on the medically fragile dogs, but it was frequently a lack of training that landed adult dogs in shelters […]

Why Did I Choose Positive Reinforcement Dog Training
It’s no secret: I’m an animal lover. I have always shared my home with at least one pet. A contraband Betta fish somehow found its way into my room during my freshman year at college. While I pursued both a bachelor’s and master’s in business, animals were my first love. After earning my bachelor’s degree, […]

In positive reinforcement dog training, our tools are really broken up into three categories: Training Tools Management Tools Enrichment Tools. We’ll go over each category week by week. […]

Last week we went over my favorite training tools. As a refresher, this includes treats, clickers, treat pouches, and refillable squeeze tubes. This week we’re going to look at some of my favorite behavior management tools. As I said last week, our tools are really broken up into three categories: Training Tools Management Tools Enrichment […]

10 Things To Do Before Your Initial Appointment
It really sucks having to wait for a professional you hired to come and do their job, especially when you have a puppy that is chewing up everything or an adult dog that is having difficulty dealing with something. Lately, dog trainers are in very high demand and many are booking out 6 to 8 […]

Sometimes Love (and training) Isn’t Enough
Behavioral euthanasia, it’s something no one really wants to talk about, but unfortunately, it’s a reality. Sometimes, despite all our best efforts, an animal simply isn’t safe to be around. We want to bring this decision to light, to fight the stigma attached, and to explain how this may become someone’s only option. Dogs, like […]
